Organic fertilization detailsOrganic Moss Control
Moss is the most common lawn problem in Kitsap County. We treat existing moss with organic products, then fix the shade, compaction, acidity, and low fertility that let it take over.
Moss control detailsNatural Weed Control
We keep weeds at bay by building deep-rooted, thick turf. When weeds need extra help leaving, we spot-treat with Moose Juice, our plant-based weed control, instead of harsh chemical herbicides.
Natural weed control detailsAeration and Overseeding
Compacted soil and thin turf are the two biggest reasons Kitsap lawns struggle. Core aeration opens the soil so water, air, and nutrients reach the roots, and overseeding fills bare and shady spots.
Lawn aeration detailsIrrigation Service
We handle spring startups, sprinkler and line repairs, coverage checks, controller programming, and fall winterization, so your lawn gets the right water in dry summers and your system is protected in winter.

Meet Nate Cook, Owner of Clean Air Lawn Care Kitsap
Nate Cook is a longtime Kingston resident and a proud dad of three kids and two dogs. His wife, Michelle, is a realtor here in Kitsap County, and together they’re deeply invested in the communities they call home.
Nate has spent years working in plumbing and has tackled just about every home project you can think of, so there isn’t much he can’t fix or build. He brings that same hands-on skill to every lawn, along with a real passion for keeping Kitsap neighborhoods beautiful and healthy.
He brings a proven system with him. Clean Air Lawn Care was founded in Fort Collins, Colorado in 2006 and has been franchising since 2008, and our custom organic fertilizers and Moose Juice weed control were developed with Colorado State University turf and soil scientists.
Lawn Care Built for Kitsap County
Kitsap lawns live in two seasons. From fall through spring, steady rain, short days, and tall conifers keep soil cool, wet, and shaded. Then July and August often go weeks without real rain. Add glacial soils that tend to be compacted and acidic, and you get moss in winter, thin and stressed turf in summer, and weeds filling the gaps. WSU Extension points to low fertility, acidic soil, shade, poor drainage, and compaction as the causes of lawn moss, and says lasting control means fixing those conditions. That’s exactly what our programs do.
Almost every Kitsap neighborhood drains to Puget Sound, Hood Canal, Liberty Bay, or a local creek, and many rural homes rely on private wells. Our organic, slow-release fertilizers feed the soil gradually, and we keep products off driveways, sidewalks, and storm drains. Find your town: Kingston, Poulsbo, or Bainbridge Island.
Frequently Asked Questions About Eco-Friendly Lawn Care in Kitsap County
What areas of Kitsap County do you serve?
We serve all of Kitsap County, with our primary service area in North Kitsap and on Bainbridge Island. That includes Kingston, Hansville, Indianola, Port Gamble, Suquamish, Poulsbo, Keyport, and Bainbridge Island, plus Silverdale, Seabeck, Bremerton, Port Orchard, and the surrounding communities.
What lawn services do you offer in Kitsap County?
We offer organic lawn fertilization, organic moss control, natural weed control, aeration and overseeding, and irrigation startup, repair, programming, and winterization. We focus on lawn treatments and irrigation rather than mowing, so you can keep your current mowing service and add our programs on top.
How do you get rid of moss in Kitsap County lawns?
We treat existing moss with organic products chosen with kids and pets in mind, then fix the conditions that let it grow: shade, compacted wet soil, acidity, low fertility, and thin turf. Organic fertilization, aeration, and overseeding help grass fill in and crowd moss out, so it doesn’t come right back next winter.
When should I winterize my sprinkler system in Kitsap County?
Most Kitsap County sprinkler systems should be winterized in October or early November, before the first hard freeze. Spring startup usually happens in April or May once frost risk has passed and the lawn starts drying out between rains.
Is organic lawn care a good fit near Puget Sound, Hood Canal, and private wells?
Yes. Organic lawn care is a strong fit for Kitsap’s waterfront and well-water homes. Our slow-release organic fertilizers release nutrients gradually as the soil needs them, our weed and moss products are plant-based and chosen with families and pets in mind, and we keep everything off hard surfaces and storm drains.
Is your lawn care pet-friendly?
Yes. We use organic fertilizers, soil builders, and plant-based weed control chosen with kids and pets in mind. We avoid synthetic fertilizers and harsh chemical herbicides, and your technician will let you know if there’s a short wait before pets go back on the lawn after a treatment.
Is Clean Air Lawn Care Kitsap locally owned?
Yes. Clean Air Lawn Care Kitsap is locally owned and operated by Nate Cook and based in Kingston, WA. We’re part of Clean Air Lawn Care, the organic lawn care company founded in Fort Collins, Colorado in 2006, so you get a local owner backed by proven organic programs.
